Revolutionary War Era Pair of Silver Flintlock Pistols
Revolutionary war era pair of silver mounted flintlock pistols signed Barbar, London circa about 1770. 14 inches overall with 8 1/2 inch brass barrels that are approximately 60 caliber smooth bore. Full stocked with silver grotesque mask butts and traditional Georgian styling on full silver mounts. Correct style horn tipped ramrods and all original flintlock small parts. Very good overall condition with even patinas and not overpolished or cleaned in British tradition. The stocks are good to very good with minor sliver of wood missing at front left edge of stock near the muzzle on one pistol. The sliver about 1/10 inch wide by one inch. The actions are crisp and both work well. A top maker and just the type pistols used in the colonies during American revolution by officers on both sides.
