Print and Sword from Elizabeth and Essex

$3,680.00

Actual sword carried and used by Errol Flynn in golden age of film classic (Elizabeth and Essex). The sword was obtained more than 25 years ago by noted dealer Michael Zomber in his purchase of the Western Costume Company sword collection. Then purchased at auction by noted Hollywood collector Joseph Musso and obtained from his estate by Little John. The sword is the style of a swept hilt rapier with large faux jewels adorning leather and brass scabbard and fluted wood grip. The sword measures 36 inches overall and has a real 30 ½ in steel blade. Errol Flynn and Basil Rathbone among other actors were accomplished swordsmen who took lessons and often the action would grow heated during filming (especially when alcohol and egos were involved). Included for display is a print made from film by Musso which looks spectacular as he was a top artist with access to studio equipment. The print is also beautifully framed in an antique style. Approximately 45 inches by 36 inches. Was $5,900 now $3,680.
