Original Philadelphia Deringer by Henry Deringer, marked “Made for, MW GALT AND BROTHER, WASHINGTON D.C.” Approximately 6 inches overall with 2 ½ barrel of approximately 40 caliber with 7 groove rifling and no ramrod. Engraved German silver mounts with pineapple finial. Bell-shaped owner’s plaque at wrist along with typical Henry Deringer styling, including “P” proof and characteristic inlays. The condition is very good overall with considerable finish remaining and just normal wear and aging. Striping lightly visible on the barrel, which shows about 50% toned original brown. Action good stocks show about half the varnish with even loss from carry and use.
