Marlin Model 1881 Ulrich

$8,900.00

Marlin model 1881 Ulrich engraved in 45-70 caliber with checkered select walnut stocks #19798. 28 inch octagon barrel, full mag, crescent or rifle butt. The barrel and tube show 60 - 80% original blue evenly drifting and toning to patina with pleasing natural age and sharp address and caliber marking. The frame shows silvery patina with light traces of case hardening mixed in. A typical stag in panel on left and doe on right in vignette surrounded by scrolls. The engraving is absolutely authentic and Ulrich’s in style (I don't care what a letter says - most fakes have good letters!). The stocks have been expertly refreshed and fit impeccably. Most of the original blue remains on the loading gate. The action is tight and the bore is good to very good. Priced at less than half of a comparable 1886 Winchester. $8,900
