Colt 3rd Model Dragoon. 44 caliber, percussion, cut for shoulder stock #16928. Good to very good overall condition, with traces of fi nish mixed in with an uncleaned patina. Legible address and patent marking on frame. Matching visible serial numbers. The cylinder shows strong traces of the original cylinder scene, and the metal is generally good to very good, with quite a bit of blue and case colors showing within an overall patina. Some scattered light to moderate erosion and pinprick pitting. The original folding rear barrel sight and front blade sight are retained. The grips are very good, with normal staining and aging along with minor marks, scratches and minuscule losses. Action is crisp and generally a tight and above average Dragoon. Rated at 7 1/2 to 8 on 1 - 10 grading scale. Approximately 1,000 made.
