18th Century British Flintlock Blunderbuss
18th century British flintlock blunderbuss with London proofed brass barrel with reinforced faceted or canon type breach with square back to round barrel. 31 ½ inches overall with 16 inch slightly flared barrel with thick walls measuring nearly 1 ¼ inches across the center of the bore. Lazy S side plate secured by three screws and 6 ¼ inches in length. Wide checkering at the wrist in semi military style with silver plaque inlaid into the wrist which is engraved in fancy script letters G.W. or J.W. Original flintlock parts and works well. Very good plus condition with only minor normal aging and slight imperfection. A strong 8 on 1 - 10 grading scale. Circa about 1750-1780 and a few blunderbuss were known to be used in the American revolution.
