Conrad Ulrich engraved in high relief 1866 Winchester carbine serial number 79928 gifted by Winchester to the Sultan of Turkey formerly in a national museum collection. There is only one other known high relief carbine currently known to collectors from the Bedner collection (see Grant + Lewis auction catalog. The frame is pristine with over 95% plus original bright gold plating. Unfortunately the barrel and magazine tube were affected by poor storage and suffered some erosion and small areas of pitting. The stocks are lightly refinished but never broken at wrist or stock replaced which many of these high relief deluxe guns had their stocks replaced.
The loading gate retains most of its original finish as does the small parts. Action and interior show virtually no use. A terrific and original high relief engraved masterpiece by Conrad Ulrich.
